MIG Welding or Metal Inert Gas Welding is also commonly referred to as GMAW (gas metal arc welding) or MAG (metal active gas welding). The MIG Welding process involves the continuous feeding of a wire electrode (mig wire) and shielding gas through a MIG torch to the workpiece where the wire short circuits, heats up and a molten droplet forms and enters the weld pool. This process happens about 100 times per second causing the arc to appear to be constant. MIG Gun consumables are subject to wear and need periodic replacement. eWelders stocks a range of quality MIG Torch consumables including mig torch liners and mig welding contact tips.
